I had a rather sleepless night last night thinking about today and what it will be like for all of you. I can’t really imagine… I’m here with my mom, and dad, and it gives me a very sharp focus on how fortunate I am to still have them.
As difficult as today (and other special days and holidays) will be, do things that keep her present. Play a game. Cook something she cooked or baked or make something you think she would like. Tell stories and memories about her. Laugh! Especially think of what she might say in response to what you would have said and done for her today and she will be there… you’ll hear those familiar responses in your mind and feel her love wrap around you.
Aubren, Rachel, and Devon, think about what she taught you about being a mother and how lucky your kids are to have her in you! Happy Mothers Day!
